In laboratorio ci occupiamo dell'analisi funzionale di due proteine contenenti domini CHORD: melusina e morgana. Le nostre ricerche ci hanno rivelato che melusina è una proteina espressa esclusivamente nel muscolo scheletrico e cardiaco e che svolge un ruolo fondamentale nella protezione del cuore da sovraccarico pressorio (es. ipertensione arteriosa). Morgana, invece, è espressa in tutte le cellule del nostro organismo e ha un ruolo fondamentale nella sopravvivenza cellulare. Stiamo studiando il ruolo di morgana nell'insorgenza e nella progressione del tumore alla mammella e nella leucemia mieloide cronica.
